Short measuring loop

The PP 281 allows two axes to be measured with just one encoder. Its direct, two-dimensional measurement enables a very short measuring loop. This reduces adverse effects and considerably increases the measuring accuracy.

High-accuracy scanning

The PP 281 two-coordinate encoder uses interferential scanning. Its measuring standard is a phase grating on a glass-ceramic graduation carrier. The encoder features very small measuring steps combined with extremely high accuracy.

Easy installation

Thanks to very short signal periods and high resolution, this encoder is perfect for high-precision applications. The mounting tolerances are unusually wide for such high-accuracy encoders, permitting easy installation.
